Hi VIPs! It’s a juicy celebrity round-up today as it was the MTV EMA awards in Amsterdam last night. Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus…Jedward. Yes, I was a bit surprised to see them too, but at least they wore something bright. Everyone else seemed to be grungy and in black.

Miley Cyrus tried to cause controversy by lighting up a joint on stage, but I reckon it looked like she was trying too hard. Even her outfit was try hard! Let’s start with the photos and then see who won what:

  • VIP Video Pick: VMAs 2001 – Spears, snakes and slaves (4 U)

With this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) performances making headlines for all the wrong reasons, our video pick of the week this week is a little taste of nostalgia: remembering when belly-dancing ruled over twerking. Is it really 12 years since Britney first wore that yellow snake as an accessory? Apparently so! But look how great her abs looked from that belly-dancing work out – time to get our sequins, scarves and ankle chains out again?

  • London Last Night: MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner

The Event: MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner

The Venue: Westbury Hotel, Mayfair, London

The VIPs: Keith Lemon, Laura Whitmore, Emma Willis, Tim Kash, Sarah Harding, Esmee Denters and Kelly Rowland (above)

    The Gossip:

    1) We were hoping to see Sarah Harding’s wedding sparkler last night at MTV’s Staying Alive foundation dinner BUT Sarah swapped her bling for a gold skull band. It was sad times! Check out Sarah’s plain ring below. (Her old one looked very similar to the blue sparkler Prince William gave Kate Middleton)

    2) The evening was also held to toast the retirement of Bill Roedy who is the chairman of MTV Networks International. And to say a special goodbye Kelly Rowland gave a speech and sang Bill an acapella of ‚Äòforever and a day’‚Ķ It definitely brought tears to our eyes!

    3) Kelly, who is the ambassador of the Staying Alive campaign, wore a classy black one-sleeved one-piece dress for the event showing off her fab figure! Check Ms Rowland out below

  • London Last Night: MTV Brand New For 2011 Gig

The Event: MTV’s Brand New for 2011 gig

    The Venue: Koko, Camden, London

The VIPs: Ruff Diamondz, Jessie J, Devlin, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Professor Green and Melanie Fiona

    The Gossip:

    1) MTV and Blackberry have joined together to present ten shows allowing the viewer to choose the acts they think will be the brightest star of 2011. And last night saw Tinchy Stryder headline the latest gig which was supported by Ruff Diamondz and Jessie J.

    2) The three-piece hip-hop group Ruff Diamondz surprised the audience with a combination of rapping and singing but they proved they had swagger with their rendition of Travie McCoy’s Billionaire. The trio changed the lyrics to ‚ÄúI want to be on the cover of Heat magazine, standing next to N-Dubz and the Queen.‚Äù

    3) The band nicknamed RD will be releasing their debut single, Do It Like Me, soon! Click here to see their video… We love them!

    4) Now Jessie J clearly stole the shine away from all the acts yesterday being given countless encores and people proposing to her! Jessie sang tracks off her new album Who You Are which included the number two hit Do It Like A Dude.

    5) Ms Jessie introduced ‚Äòthe king of Essex’ into her song ‚Äòprice tag’  who was none other than UK rapper Devlin (below) who also performed with Tinchy later in the show with Professor Green and Chipmunk.

    6) Unfortunately the Stryder man left the stage for an unknown reason but on his return half the audience had left the building! Audience members thought the show was over but it wasn’t. Next time, don’t bother with an encore Tinchy‚Ķ
