Celebrity Party|Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2012

A-List stars from the UK and across the pond hit the red carpet last night for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards at London’s Berkeley Square Gardens. Everyone from Kylie Minogue to Eva Longoria strutted their stuff on the red carpet, and there were more sequins and glitter than on Strictly Come Dancing.

The big winners of the night were the Downtown Abbey ladies Michelle Dockery (pictured above) who won the Editor’s Special award and her co-star, Jessica Findlay-Brown who plays her on-screen sister won the award for UK TV Actress. RULE BRITANNIA.

We spent the evening sipping champagne, shaking our booty on the dancefloor and finding out the best gossip and tips from those lovely ladies. See more below:

Kylie looked beautiful in her floor length, sparkling gold dress, and we have to say she did not look a day over 25 – her body is ten times better than ours. She won the award for Outstanding Contribution and we couldn’t agree more. The tiny pocket rocket has recently opened up about her breast cancer ordeal, but looked more fit and healthy than ever before. The Slow singer told us that her new miracle product is Xen-Tan Scent Secure, which is a moisturiser you slather on over your fake tan to seal it for longer. Now we know her golden glow secret!

Kelly Brook has been making the party rounds these past few weeks – first Cannes, now the Glamour awards, she said she wasn’t even tired. The actress/model looked gorgeous in her vintage tea party dress and said the only make-up essential in her clutch was a Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick, as she said her lips dried out after the heat in Cannes. Next stop for us has got to be Sisley.

Amanda Holden seemed to be trying to out-do Kelly Brook in the fashion stakes. Her white, Alice in Wonderland, Azagury dress gave her the butter wouldn’t melt appearance and we want one too.  The Britain’s Got Talent judge could have given Kelly a run for her money in the beauty department too. Amanda told us that she was wearing a Lipstick Queen Glossy Pencil, which she swears by, and has them in all the colours.

Dancing with the Stars sweetheart Katherine Jenkins looked slimmer and more tanned than ever, wearing a Mary Katrantzou frock and Jimmy Choo shoes. The opera singer said since topping up her tan whilst in the States she needs to slather on the lotion to stop her skin from peeling. Our Kat said she loves Clarins Satin Smooth Body Lotion to keep herself from being super scaly.

There were so many amazing outfits last night, we have given you our top three to drool over:

    (1) Jessie J

The Voice judge won the award for Solo Artist of the year, but we think she should win best dressed – check out those shoes!

    (2) Lea Michele

The Glee actress won best US TV actress and said she was shocked she won. We love her floor length, one shoulder gown – we think the Glee club would approve.

    (2) Kelly Rowland

Kelly, who won best TV Personality definitely ‘PUT IT DOWN’ in that frock last night.

    And one for the ladies…

Beauty Look: Matrix Biolage Hair Balm

    Matrix Biolage Hair balm

Used by: Kelly Rowland is a fan of straightening her hair so she used Matrix hair balm to keep it moisturize and looking healthy.

Where: The product is applied at home. Put a handful of treatment onto damp hair after its been washed, moisturise it into your head and then rinse it out. You can buy the treatment from many online beauty websites.

What happens: The treatment moisturises hair by stopping the dehydration cycle with the Anti-Dry care of Aloe and Passion Fruit. Your hair will be revitalised and feel healthy again, making it easier to manage. It is a particularly good treatment in the summer months when hair tends to get dry from the sun.

Cost: This particular product costs around £10.50 but other products in the same range cost more depending on what they do.

  • VIP X Factor Preview: Judges Guide

X Factor starts tomorrow but there’s a whole new judging panel. Are you keeping track of it all? We’ve had a look back at our fave judges of all times because we are really, really excited about the new series!

Basically Sharon’s out, Cheryl’s in, Dannii’s out, Tulisa’s in, then Cheryl bags it Stateside then gets the elbow, then Nicole and Kelly’s in and well insipidly Paula didn’t pinch anyone’s spot!

    What do we think then?

Out of the seven babes of the broadcast, Sharon Osbourne (above) is the oldest and distinctly most ill-advising mentor. The 58 year-old is only somewhat musically-credible so comes last as the X-Factor empress. Sorry Shaz!

We’re not doing this in age order but in sixth place is a 49 year-old Paula Abdul (above). Ab-dull is the ‘nice’ umpire (from what we’ve seen on American Idol), but still looks trendy and has sold over 60 million records worldwide. So why the low position? As the other mamas put up a good scrimmage!

Five albums, four films and a baby later, we think Dannii Minogue (above) has an important background showing she knows the ropes behind show-business. Plus she is classy and constructive!

This might leave you open-mouthed but with the amount of times Cheryl Cole said ‘swagger’ and oodles of tragedies she was mixed up in, the once upon a time reality TV star started sending us to sleep. But points awarded for her twenty-something top ten hits and top drawer sense of style!

Nabbing the third spot is ex-Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland (above) who is plausible for her previous group and solo success. And the frosting on the cake is she has a voice and can talk through experience about how to sing properly

Tulisa Contostavlos (above) is the doppelganger of Sir Alan Sugar but in the music microcosm. The lady of N-Dubz began her game aged 13, growing up in North London’s Camden Town where she became recognised for her group’s rise and memorable lyrics like “my name’s Shaniqua and what!”

We caught a peep of our Queen of X Factor on the UK’s version in 2010. And taking into mental analysis this doll’s vocal reach, performance perfection and that she emerged from a television talent show in 2001. We crown Nicole Scherzinger to have that zing that the X-Factor is all about. All hail Nicole!

  • Kelly Rowland Style

Tulisa may be blowing us away with her recent series of style hits but fellow X Factor judge Kelly has also been making a splash with fashion. Some people may find it daunting competing with a 23 year old sex symbol but Kelly holds her own against Tulisa by ensuring her perfect physique is showcased in figure hugging outfits.

Brave enough to flaunt your silhouette? Get this similar black dress from French Connection for £26.

Finish with a pair of sky high ankle boots for a fab evening look. We love this pair from Topshop for £62.

  • Kelly Rowland Style

The Destiny’s child diva has been locked in a fashionbattle with fellow X Factor judge Tulisa since beginning her stint on the UK show last month. Kicking the style up a gear, Kelly has been snapped on numerous occasions looking hot in an array of stylish outfits. Taking a break to appreciate the great British high street, Kelly popped into River Island to snap up some bargains.

Snap up a pair of her ultra skinny jeans for £39.99 from Kelly’s favourite high street store River Island.

We love the double denim look and Kelly mixes her dark wash skinny jeans with a contrasting light denim shirt. Get this similar style from Urban Outfitters for £38.

Kelly injects some vibrant colour into her look with a pair of bright turqouise peep toes. We love this pair by Dune. Available from House of Fraser for £85.

A long day of shopping requires a practical bag. But practical doesn’t have to equal boring. We love Kelly’s two tone brown shoulder bag and have found this similar style from Dorothy Perkins for £55.

  • Manchester Yesterday: X Factor Auditions

The Event: Manchester X Factor Auditions

    The Venue: Manchester

The VIPs: Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh

The Gossip: (1) DING DING! ROUND 2! This year’s X Factor style war continues and this time Tulisa has taken a leaf out of Cheryl’s book with her all white outfit, 1940s hair, bright red lips and even her dimples and tattoos all bearing similarities to Cheryl’s style traits.

    (2) But Kelly wins our vote with this chic take on a casual look of blazer and t shirt teamed with super high heels and, of course, massive shades as she heads in to search for the next Su-Bo.

    (3) The men kept it understated, both sporting a smart casual navy look. Perhaps taking the lead from Simon Cowell, it looks like Gary Barlow is going to keep well out of the girls’ fashion war. Probably a good decision Gaz.

  • Glasgow Yesterday: X Factor Auditions

    The Event: X Factor Auditions

    The Venue: SECC, Glasgow, Lanarkshire

The VIPs: Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos (above), Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow

    The Gossip:

    1) Young dancers in traditional Scottish outfits greeted the judges as they arrived at the venue – careful people, Gary and co will start getting egos as big as Simon Cowell.

    2) Kelly Rowland (below) looked incredible displaying her toned legs in a pastel patterned skirt, a long-sleeved cream blouse with neck tie and some lofty footwear. However, the shoes did not help her attempt at copying the Scottish dancing!

    3) Tulisa Contostavlos (photographed at the top of this post) went for a very short black patterned dress not made for bending over teamed with peep-toe boots. Could this be the beginning of a Cheryl vs. Dannii style fashion war?

  • Birmingham Yesterday: X Factor Auditions Day 2

The Event: X Factor Auditions Days 2

    The Venue: LG Arena, Birmingham

The VIPs: Kelly Rowland (above), Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Dermot O’Leary and Olly Murs

    The Gossip:

    1) The first to materialize from the judge’s Birmingham inn in a mini dress with a neon pink print was N-Dubz’s Tulisa Contostavlos.
A contrast from her day one threads (below).

    2) But day two saw Kelly Rowland as Commander of the fashion fracas jumping into a printed maxi-dress and tan wedges from Olivia Rubin’s S/S 2011 collection.

    3) But enough with the trend teasing, let’s converse Cheryl. Fresh face on the panel Tulisa seemed befuddled discussing her predecessor, saying ‚ÄúThe Cheryl thing is a mystery to me.‚Äù

    4) In the meantime following her brusque dismissal from the US X Factor, a US producer of the show claimed ‚ÄúIt has been a tough week for everyone involved with the series, not just Cheryl. Simon feels he has been made to look like the bad guy in all of this, when all he’s done is offer someone a job”

The supplier uninterruptedly continued “He moved heaven and earth for that girl, effectively offering to double her salary to take up a role on the UK show. Obliviously he feels responsible for Cheryl and regrets the way some of this has played put. But at the same time, Simon won’t be losing sleep over someone who has just rejected a multi-million pound job offer.‚Äù

  • Birmingham Today: New X-Factor Auditions

    The Event: X- Factor Auditions

    The Venue: LG Arena Birmingham

    Date: 1st June

The VIPs: Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Olly Murs, Caroline Flack

    1) It was thought that Cheryl Cole might return to the British show after being unceremoniously sacked from the US show by Simon Cowell.  However, that’s not going to happen and it’s now the turn of Kelly Rowland and Tulisa from N-Dubz to have a go at judging the fresh talent.

    2) Olly Murs and Caroline Flack will replace Konnie Huq on the ITV spin off show, the Xtra Factor.

    3) There was fashion rivalry between Kelly Rowland and Tulisa from N-Dubz, as the former Destiny’s Child singer made Tulisa look frumpy in comparison to her gorgeous yellow crop top and black mini skirt.  Tulisa’s bold jumpsuit choice failed to hit the right note.  Kelly Rowland also wowed the crowd with her 6 1/2 inch Christian Louboutin platforms.

  • London Last Night: MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner

The Event: MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner

The Venue: Westbury Hotel, Mayfair, London

The VIPs: Keith Lemon, Laura Whitmore, Emma Willis, Tim Kash, Sarah Harding, Esmee Denters and Kelly Rowland (above)

    The Gossip:

    1) We were hoping to see Sarah Harding’s wedding sparkler last night at MTV’s Staying Alive foundation dinner BUT Sarah swapped her bling for a gold skull band. It was sad times! Check out Sarah’s plain ring below. (Her old one looked very similar to the blue sparkler Prince William gave Kate Middleton)

    2) The evening was also held to toast the retirement of Bill Roedy who is the chairman of MTV Networks International. And to say a special goodbye Kelly Rowland gave a speech and sang Bill an acapella of ‚Äòforever and a day’‚Ķ It definitely brought tears to our eyes!

    3) Kelly, who is the ambassador of the Staying Alive campaign, wore a classy black one-sleeved one-piece dress for the event showing off her fab figure! Check Ms Rowland out below
