VIP Party: Lovebox Festival
London’s most exciting and fresh festival, Lovebox, was back with a bang this weekend. Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary in style, the music fest in Hackney’s Victoria Park played host to acts such as Emeli Sande, Kelis, Rita Ora and Maverick Sabre.
But despite the weather, the festival-goers donned their wellingtons and rain macs to see some pretty fabulous acts:
Emeli Sande put on a spectacular performance on Saturday night by singing hits Heaven and Next to Me. The Scottish lass, who has is set to receive a Silver Clef music award looked amazing with a huge black rose pinned to her hair. Emeli told us that Accessorize has the best selection of flower hair pins and that this could be her summer trend. We had better get shopping.
One of our favourite American artist Kelis, rocked the Lovebox stage over the weekend. The singer put on one of the best shows of the night with hits such as Milkshake, Caught Out There and Bounce. Kelis not only sounded great, she looked amazing too. Leather jacket, layered tutu and crazy eye make-up gave Kelis the edge. Our style crush said that she owes her dazzling make-up to MAC pigment as she says it reflects the most light. We are sooooo dusting that on our lids next time we go out.
Grace Jones left her hula hoop at home this weekend to perform some of her greatest hits. The Slave to the Rhythm singer didn’t look a day over 30, which is slightly depressing for us as she is 64! Andy Warhol’s muse says she looks after her body, drinks lots of water and uses nourishing creams to keep her skin soft. We heard a whisper that she likes to soak Clarins Multi-Active Jour into her skin at night. To the Clarins counter we go.
Quirky girlband Stooshe made a splash at one of their first festival performances. The Black Heart singers, who broke into the mainstream by teaming up with Travie McCoy sounded pitch perfect during their live performance. The girls looked super cute too with their colourful stage outfts. We caught up with the band and even after the hot stage lights beamed down on their face, their make-up looked flawless. They confessed that their shimmers were due to Bobbi Brown shimmer cheek glow which they dust over their faces and body. If that stayed on during their set, we are definitely buy some today.
Rita Ora started her festival circuit with Lovebox at the weekend, and what a performance it was. She sounded as wonderful as ever, but she did manage to flash her boob to the crowd, (by accident of course). Rita, who in the past year has been propelled to super stardom performed hits such as R.I.P and debuted some future hits too. The London singer looked gorgeous in white and her hair as ever, seemed unmoved. Rita recently told us that she puts her locks through so much, she is scared she is going to permanently damage it. Her hairdresser uses Aveda’s damage remedy as the natural elements in the product counter act the stress other product does to her tresses. Next stop Aveda.
