Lady Gaga becomes musical director for fashion show:
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two years, you will be aware of the love affair that exists between Lady Gaga and high fashion. Never one to don a simple black dress, the singer is almost as famous for her outlandish style as she is for her music.
So it comes as no surprise that Gaga would combine her two passions of love and music. The singer’s stylist, Nicola Formichetti, was recently appointed the new creative director of Thierry Mugler and has appointed Gaga as musical director for an upcoming fashion show.
Gaga’s role will see her create music specifically for the event and given her string of hits, we have no doubt Gaga will rise to the challenge. The event will take place this Wednesday evening during Paris Men’s Fashion Week. We cannot wait to see what she produces.
Alexa has a little sister:
Alexa Chung is rather fond of a Mulberry bag or two. So fond that the designer label went as far as to create a line of bags named the Alexa.
The Alexa bag created a fashion frenzy, with customers desperate to get their hands on a piece of the British style icon.
But Alexa will have to battle some sibling rivalry, as the fashion label introduces Alexa’s little sister bag, the Tillie.
Creative Director of Mulberry, Emma Hill said:
“We absolutely LOVE the Tillie! She is as iconic and quintessentially Mulberry as Alexa and Bayswater,”
“as easy to wear and as instantly ‘how did I survive without her?!’. She’s just a little more uptown and a little cheekier, with gorgeous trompe l’oeil hardware – I want her now!!”
From slouchy styles to satchels, the Tillie is available in an array of pastel shades, including pale denim and pink ponyskin.
Great. Another bag to have serious label envy over. Here’s hoping the local market produce a bleeding good copy‚Ķ
Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar set for war over royal wedding:
Whilst other publications have been intensely speculating the dress, the designer and almost every other miniscule detail of the event, a war is set to break out between leading fashion magazines, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue over who can nab Kate Middleton for their front cover first.
Giving the intense media coverage the royal wedding has produced, a Kate cover is sure to be as coveted as a cover spot comes.
Those in the know have pegged Vogue as the likely candidates to snap up the soon to be bride but they may be forgetting the vital contacts in Harper’s Bazaar’s possession.
Fashion Features Editor Sara Buys is married to Camilla Parker Bowles’s son Tom. Could Kate possibly refuse her new mother in law’s family?
Speaking about the imminent battle, Bazaar stylist Mary Alice Stephenson said: “There will probably be a war with Vogue.‚Äù
Let battle commence.
