Brooke Vincent (Corrie): Opting for blazer and trouser combo instead of a dress, white can often look cheap and nasty on the wrong person but with her flawlessly pale complexion she just about pulls it off. She also did the right thing and broke the outfit up with a black bag and sandals, black nails and vampy red lips.

Charley Webb (Emmerdale): This outfit is like fashionable marmite, you’re either gona love it or hate it. Personally I love it! The top knot and punky make up really add to the gothic vibe and the detailing and embellishments on the matching crop top and maxi skirt are just beautiful.

Chelsea Halfpenny (Emmerdale): Her orange t-shirt dress is a sure head turner and compliments her tan but is rather basic compared to some of her red carpet cohorts. However, she adds a rocky edge to the ensemble with a fishtail plait, black purse and black buckled boots. I kinda love it!

Diane Keen (Doctors): Oh man! The dress, the shoes, the bag, it’s all just awful! I know she’s a lady of a certain age but that’s no excuse (look at Helen Mirren). The cut of the dress is totally wrong for her figure and the ruching on her chest is horrendous. I’d have loved to have seen her in something long and flowing with capped sleeves. Sigh.

Diane Parish (Eastenders): Another Diane, another terrible outfit. I honestly don’t know what makes middle aged women decide to dress like they’re still in their twenties because honestly, it makes them look even older. And, this outfit is so hideous that even someone in their twenties would turn their nose up at it. Plunging neckline, thigh-high split? Put it away!

Gemma Merna (Hollyoaks): Nude paneling is so in right now and this is a daring ensemble to say the least but Gemma pulls it off with style.  I’m not sure about the lace trim along the boddice and I would have liked to have seen it without the sleeve. Her top knot is also slightly harsh (no croydon facelifts please) so next time she should go for a softer hairstyle. Just saying.

Hetti Bywater (Eastenders): I won’t lie, she looks stunning! Exactly how a young actress should look. The black gown is classy and fits her small frame perfectly but the peekaboo slit adds a sexy edge without being too erm slutty? Top marks!

Jennifer Metcalfe (Hollyoaks): Another white blazer comes courtesy of Hollyoaks babe Jennifer Metcalfe. Is it just me or is she totally bra-less? I think we all know the answer but I don’t blame her. She needed to do something to spice up her skinny trouser and black heel ensemble and she about managed it. Just!

Jessie Wallace (Eastenders): Oh Jessie this outfit is so tragic I don’t really know where to start. To say she’s been an on/off soap actress for over 10 years she should really know better! Sack your stylist now or appoint one quickly, whichever one applies!

Jorgie Porter (Hollyoaks): The sexiest woman nominee rocks the Grecian goddess look with absolute ease. It’s not hard to see why she was nominated in that category, easily one of the best dressed of the night!

Kym Lomas (Corrie): Personally, I’m not blown away by the dress but it’s definitely not the worst of the night. The neckline doesn’t suit her athletic frame and aside from the sparkle, it’s all just very underwhelming.

Michelle Keegan (Corrie): The dress is spectacularly made and fit her very well. However, the colour is slightly blah and her usually coiffed hair looks flat and greasy but maybe she didn’t have time since she hasn’t let go of Mark Wright since it was confirmed they were dating. Oh and I’m glad too see she’s toned the tan for once. Good girl.

Nikki Sanderson (Hollyoaks): This outfit confuses me. To her knees it’s beautiful. However, she doesn’t seem to have noticed that someone has made off with the bottom half of her skirt and is just smiling like she doesn’t realise her underskirt is on show. My advice is rip off the pointless material and carry on!

Rachel Bright (Eastenders): Her yellow ensemble definitely brings a touch of colour to the evening and her mismatched bag and shoes add a youthful touch, making her look a lot younger than her twenty-nine years.

Zoe Henry (Emmerdale): Doing the I’m a Little Teapot dance isn’t going to distract people from this train wreck of an outfit. A leopard print tie, yellow lace dress, black tights and clunky heels shouldn’t be allowed to be worn together in any circumstances. It’s actually giving me a migraine.

Jenny’s book, Welcome To Rosie Hopkins’ Sweetshop of Dreams, thoroughly deserved to win the prize for best romantic novel of the year if the Amazon reviews are anything to go by. I cannot remember the last time I saw so many glowing reviews in one place.

It tells the story of Rosie Hopkins, who thinks leaving her busy London life, and her boyfriend Gerard, to sort out her elderly Aunt Lilian’s sweetshop in a small country village is going to be dull. Boy, is she wrong. Lilian Hopkins has spent her life running Lipton’s sweetshop, through wartime and family feuds. As she struggles with the idea that it might finally be time to settle up, she also wrestles with the secret history hidden behind the jars of beautifully coloured sweets.

The Live Like a VIP team have all read (or are currently reading) one book that is close to my heart because it’s about Amy Winehouse (photographed with me above). I used to work with Amy at a news agency called WENN and the book Amy Winehouse – The Untold Story by Chloe Govan details this time in Amy’s life and other things I experienced with her…plus other information I seriously had no idea about.

The biography about Amy made headlines in The Sun newspaper with it’s shocking line that Amy tried to commit suicide when she was just 10 years old after her parents announced they were splitting up. The Amy I knew, when she worked at WENN at the age of 18, put a brave face on that earlier trauma as she was one of the strongest girls I knew. Even as a teenager, Amy acted like a mother figure. I was older than her (about 21) and yet she’d been at the agency longer than me so she taught me about what I needed to do…and then gave me a cheeky wink and told me that I could get away with having about 6 cigarette breaks a day. I didn’t smoke, but I did go outside to get the gossip as long as I could get away with it.

Normally Amy and I talked about boys. She asked me about my ‘fella’ and at the time I was in a long distance relationship with someone Amy thought sounded like a loser. She was dating the news editor Chris and I thought he was lovely, but Amy would always smoke and complain. Even though she was younger than me, it felt like I was talking with someone worldlier and wiser – as she puffed on the cigarette I almost felt like I was gossiping with Dot Cotton from Eastenders, a prettier version. But Amy was trouble too..

One day, I was invited to the pub with the rest of the agency. Amy had left by then to pursue her music but she turned up and started smoking something that was definitely stronger than a regular cigarette. My sister was there and she’d never experienced that before and I remember bribing her not to tell our mum what we’d been up to.

The next time I saw Amy was when she’d made it. After WENN I moved on to the Mail On Sunday, and I attended a celebrity party – I think it was the ELLE Style Awards. Amy was mobbed! When she walked in, the paparazzi went crazier than when some A’list actresses walked in. The paparazzi loved her that much (and obviously she loved them I think). Despite being busy, Amy sought me out rather than me approaching her…as I was scared she would be too busy for me. But Amy always had time for people she cared about, and yet again she asked me about my ‘fella’ (who I had ditched b y that time but replaced with someone equally unsuitable). It was pre-Blake and Amy was with someone called Alex. I sensed he was a nice guy, but too nice for Amy who thrived on drama.

Throughout our careers (I moved from the Mail on Sunday to the London Paper and to The Sunday Mirror and Amy moved from one chart-topping single to another to THAT album to those marital dramas) we continued to see each other at various levels of intimacy. I hung out with her in the Hawley Arms pub in Camden, she cooked chicken for me in her flat, I got invited into her area at Glastonbury, I was there the night she emerged from the Sanderson Hotel in those bloodied ballet slippers, I attended one of her birthday parties on the rooftop of the Century members club in London and I even chatted to her in Prince’s Dressing Room. (It was the final night of Prince’s 21 gigs at the O2 and Amy said she was nervous about performing at Prince’s after-party).

But maybe all my tales are for another time. This blog post is not about me, it’s about the new book. Order it from Amazon and you won’t regret it…and maybe one day I’ll publish my own memories. What do you think?

For any beauty lover, the thought of spending a weekend in a muddy field with no home comforts is slightly daunting. As beauty junkies ourselves, we’ve put together a capsule list of products that keep us feeling and looking as good as possible whilst roughing it.

1. Clinique Super City Block SPF 40 – £16, Boots

If we had a pound for every time we’ve spotted sore, red sunburn at a festival we’d have enough money to buy the entire range at a Tom Ford beauty counter. Sunburn on your face however, is on an entirely different level of horrific – a huge no no, think of your poor collagen! Clinique’s City Block range of SPFs are perfect for every day use. They sit beautifully underneath make-up and provide both UVA and UVB protection, meaning they’re great for sunnier days in the UK.

2. Korres Lip Butters – £4.88, thehut.com

Excessive drinking dehydrates the skin like nothing else, and this is often most visible on the lips. Korres Lip Butters are well known by beauty insiders for their moisturising properties. Not only do they keep your lips soft, but they come in an amazing range of colours, meaning you can ditch the lipstick but still feel a little put together despite doing your make-up in a compact mirror whilst sat on a camping chair – not so glamorous! The best thing about these is that you can get them in stick form online, which is much more hygienic and perfect for festivals.

3. Cream Eyeshadow in ‘Happiness’ – £14.50, Lush

We like to keep our make-up bag as light as possible at festivals – the lighter our bags, the better! Multi-tasking products are therefore an essential, and Lush’s Cream Eyeshadows work brilliantly for adding a little bit of colour to the eyes whilst being tiny enough to fit in our festival beauty bag. The shade ‘Happiness’ is also great for adding some glow to the tops of the cheekbones and looks lovely on tanned skin when applied sparingly.

4. & Other Stories Body Mist in ‘Moroccan Tea’ – £12, stories.com

This stuff smells like a mojito in a bottle: fresh, minty and sweet. Taking our favourite fragile, glass-bottled perfume for a weekend in a field is a risk we’re not willing to take, so we like to opt for a cheaper body spray to keep us smelling fresh! This one has pretty good staying power and is from our new favourite high-street store, & Other Stories, which has recently opened on Regent Street. If fresh, sweet smells aren’t your thing, there’s so many other scents to try, so nip in and have a sniff!

5. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray – £9 (travel size), Debenhams

Things can get a little hot and flustered when you’re in festival crowds, and you’re guaranteed to be up partying until the early hours. That touch of concealer and dusting of powder doesn’t look so great 12 hours after you’ve applied it, and once you get home and see photos of your spotty, sweaty face plastered all over Facebook, you start to wish you’d made a bit more effort. We like to spritz Urban Decay’s De-Slick Spray underneath and over the top of our minimal make-up to ensure that concealer keeps on hiding our festival induced eye bags and blemishes all day (and all night) long. An absolute festival must-have – this stuff works!

Obviously cleansing wipes, hand sanitiser and dry shampoo come along with us too, but they’re a given! We can’t guarantee you’re going to look as great as the celebs at Coachella, but these products certainly help us to feel a little more confident when we haven’t got our extensive beauty stash to hand!

Kourtney K was spotted in LA yesterday looking stunning in a simple, white t-shirt dress and sandals. She might have had trouble losing her baby weight since giving birth to daughter Penelope in July last year but she definitely seems to be back to her normal skinny self. Illamasqua blushers are known for being super pigmented, which means you only need the tiniest amount to get Nicole’s gorgeous glow!

Whitney’s favourite eyeshadow is a beautiful shimmery champagne shade by Stila. This will look great paired with ‘Lady Danger’ lipstick as it’ll really tone down the eyes, letting the lips do the talking.
