Hi VIPs! The Pride of Britain took place in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel last night and all the celebs really made an effort. It was nice to see as they were paying tribute to real people who’d done brave and generous things so by dressing up they showed they took it seriously.
If you’re looking for party outfit inspiration as October and Christmas party season is fast approaching, then here’s a bit of inspiration from the Pride Of Britain red carpet.
Kimberly Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl Fernandez Versini
Who do you think looked the best? We’re torn between Alesha Dixon and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
Now have a great day and we’ll see you tomorrow for more showbiz goss.
Hi VIPs! It’s Friday! Even better news is that if you’re in the UK, the weather is going to be sunny at the weekend. BBQ time, anyone?
This week, we’ve had the final of Celeb Big Brother, some film premieres, some TV news and Selena Gomez dominating London by making a million outfit change a day for the past 5 days. This is what excites us the most.
(1) The Apprentice Star James Hill wins Celeb BB (but is an Apprentice loser really a celeb?!)
(2) Matt Damon and his gorgeous co-stars Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara and Kirsten Wiig came to Leicester Square for the premiere of Martian. The film looks great!
(3) Sicaro with Emily Blunt and Bencicio Del Toro also had it’s UK premiere and Emily Blunt stole the show.
(4) TOWIE’s back on 4 October. Georgia Kousolu and Tommy Mallet are currently filming in Marbs.
(5) Selena Gomez hosted a party at Annabel’s to celebrate the end of her UK trip. She cuddled up to Poppy Jamie and Suki Waterhouse. It’s nice to see Suki smiling and partying again, moving on from her split with Bradley Cooper.
(6) Little Mix were at Selena’s party and I was blown away by how hot they look. They’ve come far since their X Factor days.
So that’s a bit of film, TV and music news to end the week. Have a fantastic weekend and we’ll see you Monay with some more celeb goss.
Hi VIPs! The GQ Men of The Year Awards is one event where you can expect non-stop glamour. Held at the Royal Opera House, with Champagne and vodka flowing from start to finish the stars looked great when they arrived but not so much when they departed for the after-party.
Lets have a look at who wore what (at the start!)
Amber Le Bon
Lewis Hamilton and Lionel Richie
By the end of the night it was shoes off, suit jackets off and ‘relaxed’ faces! The sign of a fun night.
Now have a fun and fantastic day and come back tomorrow for a round-up of the week’s hottest celebrity gossip.
Hi VIPs! What a week. It’s been scorching hot in London, which makes dressing for parties difficult. You can’t wear anything too tight or too black otherwise you’re going to sweat and that is not very VIP.
Fortunately we’ve just had some more inspiration from the celebrities, who all had to dress to impress for The Serpentine gallery summer party. This is what they wore:
Hi VIPs! It’s the weekend and we do hope you have some kind of party planned as we have a lot of party dress inspiration for you today.
The A’listers are currently in Cannes and we are in lust with some of the outfts. We’ve picked our top 5 below.
We also have some EXCITING NEWS: Zoe is going to the Cannes Film Festival on Monday! This means from Tuesday onwards, we’ll be getting you all the goss first-hand. You can also tweet us @livelikeavip if you want her to hunt down any celebs in particular.
So far, we love the dresses worn by:
Michelle Rodriguez at Mad Max premiere
Charlize Theron at Mad Max premiere
Eva Longoria and Global Gift Gala
Miranda Kerr at the launch of the new Magnum flavours. So on brand as well!
Julianne Moore at Mad Max premiere
We’ll have a roundup of celebrity news for you on Monday and then Cannes commences (for us) on Tuesday. Have a great weekend and do stay it touch with us on Twitter and Instagram.
The Stroke Association is a cause close to my heart. I’ve run marathons for them but London PR guru and philanthropist Nick Ede has done so much more than that.
Not only has he raised a LOT of money for them during his active fundraising, he’s making a move to take the stigma out of stroke. There used to be a taboo around it but now Nick’s opened up his fashion and celeb industry contacts book and got all the stars talking about it. And not only talking, but wearing slogans on their chests, like Nick is below with TOWIEs Jessica Wright.
Nick’s idea was to collaborate with Boohoo to produce a collection of t-shirts, which are just £10 each and all profits go to the Stroke Association. Judging by the amount of the celebs at the party, all the VIPs have these t-shirts now. If you want to Live like a VIP like them then check out the collection here.
I caught up with Denise Van Outen at the party, who tells me she’s about to host a new weight loss program in the UK in the Autumn. It will be a bit like America’s The Biggest Loser but less of a freak show. She was in great shape at the party – I felt like a giant next to her.
Also, out showing that The Stroke Association is a cause close to their hearts were the following celebs:
Sarah Jane Crawford
Gemma Oaten and Matt Evers
Glam or what? Don’t forget to head to Boohoo to get yours now!
Hi VIPs! We do know that the BAFTA TV awards were on Sunday night, but we just want to have one more look at the fabulous fashion. It’s not every day that there’s a British awards ceremony, where all our home grown talent shows they can look just as chic and elegant as the Hollywood stars. And as the stars went to a real effort to look uber VIP, we owe it to them to pay attention. Plus we can use it as fashion inspiration.
We’ve had a debate in the Live Like a VIP office and our fave looks are Brooke Vincent and Rochelle Wiseman. Tweet your thoughts to @livelikeavip
So what did you think?
Have a great day and we’ll see you tomorrow for more showbiz goss.
It’s a Monday night, and I find myself looking at the real life faces of Christopher Nolan (see director of Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, etc.), film legend Michael Caine, Hans Zimmer; composer and music producer for just about every film worth watching in my lifetime (including the afore mentioned films, as well as gems like Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pearl Harbour, Iron Man, even my Disney fave the Lion King!); rock star physicist Professor Brian Cox, and two of science’s most incredible thinkers: Kip Thorne and Stephen Hawking … I didn’t know whether to cry, scream or faint!
Being in the same room as a celebrity, or well-respected VIP – if you’d rather, never gets old. That’s not to brag that I’ve been in that situation often – I certainly haven’t by all standards – but it’s happened a few times, and each time I’ve found myself pretty overwhelmed, nauseously in awe and mostly wanting to throw myself at their feet and tell them how awesome they seem to a mere mortal such as I.
So, I may been looking at these geniuses of their fields along with 5,000 other pairs of eyes, but hey, this was Interstellar Live; the film event of the year, to honour the film of the decade (at least!) – in the humble opinion of a giant nerd such as myself – and as well as listening to such a fine collection of VIPs having a casual chat, I was also about to watch the film; in the Royal Albert Hall; with a live score performed by Hans Zimmer and a full orchestra!
Christopher Nolan explains his director’s decision-making techniques
Hans Zimmer explains how to put mood music to moments in cinema
I don’t want to give away any spoilers for those who haven’t seen the film (so I won’t!), but I can say that hearing the music live; in such an intense way, as it bounced off the walls of the Royal Albert Hall was utterly spine-tingling.
There was even one section of the film where it is no exaggeration to say people were moved to tears. Or at least I was. And the people sitting either side of me, and we definitely count as people. Given that the entire audience burst into spontaneous applause (despite there being no pause in the movie suitable to accommodate this), I’d say we weren’t the only ones. If you’re curious, there’s a YouTube clip of the moment in question here:
Whilst I didn’t see her arrive personally, I’d heard that Jessica Chastain was in the audience, having stunned crowds with her LBD as she made her way down the red carpet. I thought about the fact that she was there, watching this with us as her character delivered an emotional performance on-screen, and it felt pretty surreal.
Still, perhaps not quite as surreal as Kip Thorne giving Professor Brian Cox a physics lesson; complete with slides (yes, slides – like GCSE Science, only way cooler… and more complicated) before arguing with Christopher Nolan over his decision to alter the appearance of the Gargantua black hole, so that it isn’t entirely factually correct (unlike most of the rest of the film).
I’m not really sure how you’d summarise a evening such as that, but it’s made me a very happy lady… and surely given me just a few bragging rights?
Hi VIPs! Congratulations on surviving another working week. It’s now time to let yourself think, dream and plan. Were you happy with your week? What do you need to change to make it better?
The reason we’re bringing all this up now is the magic of Disney. Disney’s Cinderella had its premiere in Leicester Square and it was a true fairytale, which made us believe again that anything is possible.
The celeb guestlist was packed! Check out who attended:
Richard Madden (Prince Charming and Jenna Coleman)
Lily James (Cinderella)
Helena Bonham Carter
Sarah Jane Crawford
What do you think of the outfits?
The film is a must-see – don’t miss it when it’s released in the UK on 27 March. And have a fantastic weekend. We’ll be back Monday with more celebrity gossip.
