Designer Mouret did not help Victoria:
If you find yourself interviewing designer Roland Mouret (which admittedly is not a situation we imagine many of us to find ourselves in but go with it) you may want to steer clear of any questions that insinuate an involvement with Victoria Beckham’s collections.
When Victoria’s designs started to make waves in the fashion industry, gaining a series of celebrity fans and the respect of the fashion elite, insiders started questioning how much help Mrs Beckham may have had from her designer friends.
One brave journalist decided to pluck up the courage to ask designer Roland Mouret the truth regarding close friend Victoria Beckham’s success, to which he responded:
‚ÄúOh my God, that question! Politicians, movie stars, it’s always the first things they want to know and I’m like, why? Why would I want to design a collection for Victoria Beckham?
‚ÄúYes she is a friend and yes she asks for advice and yes I told her the name of a pattern cutter, but she has lots of friends she asks for advice ‚Äì Marc Jacobs. I like to help people that’s all.‚Äù
Well maybe that serves us right for doubting Victoria in the first place. After all, if you do spend most of your time shopping and posing in stylish get ensembles, it’s likely you will develop a knowledge of style and good design. We’re sorry you were ever doubted Vic.
Kate Middleton gets the pop art treatment:
Tatler magazine have chosen Kate Middleton as their latest cover star. However, rather than asking the royal to be to pose for the cover, the magazine have taken an already existing image of Kate and transformed it into an Andy Warhol style piece of art.
Similar to Warhol’s Monroe piece, the cover shows an image of Kate replicated in a number of colourful designs. The issue is said to be a collector’s issue, celebrating the royal engagement.
Price William is also given the Warhol treatment inside the magazine, which features a 19 page special on the royal wedding.
Cheryl Cole talks fashion with Elle:
Cheryl graces the cover of February’s Elle and behind the scenes of the shoot, spills the beans on her style.
Despite committing many a fashion faux pas on X Factor last year, we were still all ears to hear about Cheryl’s views on fashion.
Despite her fortune, she proves that she really is still a down to earth Geordie girl, commenting on the high price of designer labels:
‚ÄúI love Balmain but that’s just being ridiculously spoilt. I always find that I really love their stuff.
I appreciate fashion, it’s not something I worry about or something I strive to be but it’s definitely a massive part of who I am and what I do.‚Äù
