How To Launch Your First YouTube Channel

Do you want to follow in the footsteps of Zoella and create a successful YouTube channel? Well, there is no better time to start. Yet, don’t rush into making your first video. Instead, make an informed decision by learning how to launch our first YouTube channel.

    zoella

    Perform a Competitor Analysis

You will more than likely understand the type of YouTube channel you would like to launch, which could range from “How to” videos to vlogs. Before you press record, it’s advisable to perform a competitor analysis, so you can gain an insight into what is or isn’t working for your rivals. Not only should you watch the videos, but you should look at their views and engagements, such as likes, shares and comments.

    Develop Your Brand

The most successful vloggers have built their own successful brand. Your personality will ultimately determine your logo, thumbnails and banners, which can encourage trust in your videos. Think carefully about your tone of voice, USP and content, and aim to create a brand that is synonymous with your style. You should then learn how to make YouTube channel art to attract viewers to your videos successfully.

    Create a Content Strategy

    diary-planner

Don’t just hit record and hope inspiration finds you. Develop a content marketing strategy for your YouTube channel. For instance, you must carefully consider the video content. Ask yourself the type of videos your audience wants to watch, and if there is anything missing online, so you can fill the gap. There are different forms of content you can create, such as product demonstrations, how-to videos and testimonials, plus more. Also, create a publishing schedule so your audience will know when to return to your channel to watch your latest videos. As soon as you know the types of videos you want to create, you should then set-up your first YouTube channel and upload your artwork.

    Start Creating Videos

Once you have defined your brand and know the type of content you want to produce, the fun can really start. Try to produce high-quality videos that will reflect your brand, and keep the videos short to maintain both interest and engagement. Keep up-to-date on the most popular videos on YouTube right now and aim to identify why they are so successful – then follow in their footsteps.

    Optimize Your Channel

Don’t upload your YouTube videos and wait for YouTube to do all the hard work. You must optimize the videos to ensure they rank highly in the search results. To do so, summarize the content in the video description, while naturally incorporating keywords into the content. You should also write a compelling video title and utilize tags to rank for your chosen keywords.

    Promote Your Video

Not only must you aim to increase your visibility on YouTube, but you should also drive as many people as possible to your channel by promoting your videos on third-party websites. For instance, you can use the embed codes to promote them on your website, social media accounts and social bookmarking sites. You never know, you could become the next Zoella.

Loved Flappy Bird? Try Flappy Chappy!

Hi VIPs! We have a special little discovery for you. How many of you downloaded Flappy Bird and became addicted? Well ever since, the owner got rid of Flappy Bird due to a guilty conscious, it wasn’t long until the bird shaped void was filled. Enter Mark Van Der Spuy and Dabeel Waheed- On 18th February a new app for iOS users was released with the intention to fill the market that Flappy Bird left. Aztechfilms and the man behind PainBook and Round2it, Mark Van Der Spuy, has developed a new app by the name of Flappy Chappy.

    LOGO (1)

‘People are using their phones for everything now,’ says creator Van Der Spuy. ‘The rise in popularity of game apps on phones is something that developers can’t ignore. People loved Flappy Bird and hated it in equal measure. The game being taken down has left people wanting something similar, so I wanted to fill the gap with Flappy Chappy.’

Flappy Chappy is a single finger gameplay app for iPhone, iPad and other Apple app users. The game focuses on the user having to navigate a fast moving plane; that automatically flies, through a level of rising balloons. In a similar vein to Flappy Bird, if you hit the balloons or the ground then that’s it, game over. Much like Flappy Bird, though simple in design, the game is much harder than it looks and sounds

    ResReader

Each level of Flappy Chappy that you reach gets progressively harder and the game has been described as ‘insanely addictive’ and has a soundtrack that contains pulsing techno beats to increase not only tension but your motivation whilst you play. Flappy Chappy can connect to Facebook to share your scores and challenge your friends to beat your high score.

iOS users will be able to download Flappy Chappy for free from the iTunes and Apple stores. Flappy Chappy will be available through iTunes_FLAPPYCHAPPY and the Apple app store for free.

    New Music Round-Up: SISTERS

“We are all actually sisters but no one believes us,” says Sisters guitarist/vocalist Niall Burns when questioned what’s one thing we might not know about Sisters but should. The three-piece released their debut single “Hush Hush” in early December last year after touring with “one of our favourite bands” Big Deal.

The Irish band (they all come from Limerick) is comprised of bassist/vocalist Aoife, guitarist/vocalist Niall and drummer Andrew and although all come from the same city and have “been best friends for years”, it wasn’t until they all moved to London that the idea of Sisters first emerged.
     photo Sisters_zpse2b37641.jpg

Not that they’ve forgotten about home – when asked to share any new artists, Niall cites three Irish bands. “There’s loads of really, really great Irish bands at the moment, like We Cut Corners, Funeral Suits and Slow Riot. There’s so many bands around at the moment though so it’s hard to keep up to be honest, we’re pretty enclosed in our own little Sisters world.”

Another single is set to come out early this year along with a possible headline tour (that they’re “not entirely sure when” will happen). Keep your eyes peeled here:

Superfood: New Music Pick Of The Week

     photo 1superfood_zps7e13d8a1.png

VIPs deserve to get the news first so rather than follow trends we’re going to get ahead of them. When we hear something we like we’re going to tell you so that you can be cool before your friends. Brummie four-piece Superfood look set to have a great year with their EP “MAM” due to be released March 3rd. If you’re liking the ubiquitous nineties revival, wear baggy sweaters and optional beanie then you may well like Superfood.
     photo 2superfood_zps269e18ef.png
It might also help if you like guitar bands. Visit their label’s site and you’ll see their music described as “artfully-crafted college rock”.

Superfood came about from chance meetings and the demo of “Superfood” was born from their very first recording session. The four-piece’s name came from this first track. They describe wanting their music to have “the Beastie Boys’ hip-hop beats” and you can kind of see the New Yorkers’ influence on Superfood if not just in the artwork on their website. Observe this Beastie Boys artwork and then visit Superfood’s own website.
     photo 1superfood1_zps527e17d6.png photo beastieboys_zps6e832b97.png
Really, whoever designed their website I’d very much like to buy a drink – just look at it. It’s pixellated genius:

     photo 11superfood1_zps72d4f8d8.jpg
Signed to Infectious Records, Superfood supported fellow Birmingham-dwellers Peace last year and attracted attention from the likes of BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Their “first offering to the world” (as they put it) came last year in April, the aforementioned “Superfood”. The “MAM” EP will feature four tracks including “TV” and “Bubbles” which you can see below.

Superfood will be supporting Wolf Alice throughout May in a number of venues up and down the UK – check them out! See their Facebook page for more info

    Celebrity eBay accounts!

So we know that recently Kim Kardashian sold some of her dresses on eBay (see the actual online store here…) with a percentage of the proceeds going out to support for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Even though Kim’s seemingly philanthropic gesture did raise some money for victim support, it is rumoured to be a mere 10% of what her auctioned clothes actually fetched. However, for any VIP, buying a celeb’s very own second hand designer clothes is surely one of the best ways to dress like a VIP.

    kimmy (1)

Other celebs with eBay accounts that VIPs might want to check out are listed here:

    kesha (1)

    1. Ke$ha: The ‘Tick Tock’ singer is auctioning her Louboutins, amongst other items on eBay in aid of The Human Society of The United States (shop here)

    xtina (1)

    2. Christina Aguilera: The singer has recently lost a lot of weight, perhaps she’s auctioning off her ‘fat’ clothes? Take a look here…

    tracy (1)

    3. Tracy Anderson: Trainer-to-the-stars Tracy, responsible for honing and toning the bodies of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow auctions off some of her belongings in aid of charity Safe Horizon. Will she auction off her old gym gear? Check it out here…

    katyp (1)

    4. Katy Perry: One of our fave pop stars, Katy Perry will hopefully be selling some of her fabulous stage outfits for us to buy on her eBay store in aid of the Musicares Foundation. Have a look for yourself here…

These eBay accounts are just a few of the many you can have a look at, and it’s all in a good cause too! No excuse not to VIPs, not only can you dress like a VIP, you can donate like one too!

I’m going to have a look right now and try and snap up a Christmas party dress before they all go, get bidding!

    Jessica Sutta – Pussycat Doll

She was a member of the successful pop R&B group the Pussycat Dolls. Here she talks about how stardom enabled her to travel the world and experience some unforgettable events like Live Earth.

Probably my sexist dance came with my biggest break when I appeared as a dancer in Beyonce’s Crazy in Love; that was such a hot video.

My nickname was always “Pin Up Doll”. I’ll let your readers work out why? As a Pussycat Doll I always tried to keep my clothes on when we make music videos but the management didn’t always agree!  And it was the same scenario when I first acted in a Swedish TV soap opera Ocean Avenue. It was shot in Florida so a load of hot Swedes running around in humid weather meant it got very hot and steamy! It’s nothing new to me though, when I joined the Miami Heat dance team in 1999 and became their captain in 2001 you should have seen the sexy routines we did!

If Beyonce’s video was my big break the big highlight was performing at the Live Earth concert at Wimbley. So London will always be a special city to me.

We had  a few guest dancers up on stage with the PCD: Britney was the biggest disappointment though! To me Britney was this huge world wide star, who I thought was going to be the next Madonna. I wanted her to be well inside herself and I wanted her to succeed but I still think that she has the potential to have a brilliant career, but she obviously has deep personal problems.

I try to stay away from that whole scene that Linsay, Britney and Paris were on. Especially in Los Angeles. It is a lifestyle to become apart of. Fortunately I was really busy with the PCD, I don’t think Britney any of this stuff on herself but definitely going out in LA with out any knickers is definitely not a good thing. I know that we had a lot of young girls who were PCD fans so I was a lot more wary than Britney in the example we set. I’m not sure if any of the PCD would have gone out without underwear like Britney. I still do tend to go out wearing panties most of the time! Lol

You guys in England always wanted to know the most intimate things about PCD. Like who is the most flexible member of PCD. Well, I’m going to reveal that it was Kimberly. In the show she did lots of crazy stuff. I’m pretty flexible too!

There was no jealousy in the PCD which might surprise you because Nicole always got the lead vocals.

Jessica’s Ideal Night Out in Los Angeles

    laugh factory

There was nothing crazier than when I and the girls from PCD would go out in Los Angeles. It happened about once a week and we’d even go out and celebrate the birthday of one of the girls’ boyfriends.

There were usually about six of us and we’d take the poor fella to somewhere like the Laugh Factory, a comedy club on the Sunset Strip. It’s brilliant for group bookings and the open mid nights are scary because you always think someone is going to talk about you and point at you in the crowd.   http://www.laughfactory.com/clubs/hollywood

Then after we’d laughed ourselves silly we’d usually end up in a place called Teddy’s a nightclub where things can get really hot. It’s actually probably known also as

Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.  http://www.thompsonhotels.com/hotels/la/hollywood-roosevelt/drink/teddy’s

The hotel itself is such a iconic part of Hollywood’s history. When we’d go out together people often take a double take – they couldn’t believe that we are all out together. I think they wanted us to start dancing down Hollywood Boulevard real sexy like in our videos. But we all did our own little things to be really sexy and too dress hot and sexy.

Jessica’s guide to getting papped (or not) in LA:

I’ve been up to Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansions a couple of times and I usually go to the big Halloween party he throws. I’m really glad I got to meet Hugh and he lives his life just the way he wants to. I don’t think I would ever do a nude photo shoot though. You kind of have to be invited but look at http://www.playboy.com/casting-call it is a way of putting yourself forward and who knows maybe getting invited to a party.

The paparazzi did follow me around in Los Angeles but it didn’t get really as bad for me as it did for the likes of Paris(Hilton), Lindsay (Lohan) and Britney (Spears). I still see Lindsay now and then in clubs like Hyde

https://www.facebook.com/HydeHollywood?directed_target_id=0 and that’ll set the peps into frenzy if I or anyone really goes up and gives the poor girl a kiss! I feel sorry for her because she has got sucked into a certain lifestyle. She’s so talented really.

    Getting the Hollywood Popstar look:

The only thing I have in common with Paris Hilton is that I have a tiny Pomeranian dog called Star who weighs just 6 lbs. I like to cut her hair quite often too like Paris. Try somewhere like http://dogpetboutique.com/p4/D.O.G-Pet-Boutique-Los-Angeles/pages.html

Nicole Scherzinger is still a remarkably beautiful girl who has no end to her talents. She can do absolutely everything and I was sure that one day she’d go solo and become a huge star. But her pop star look only came one way, sheer hard work.
