VIP Awards: Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards

Celebrity Awards | Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards

Another day, another awards show and it doesn’t get much ritzier than the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards. Fashion’s most influential women slipped their feet into their very best Jimmy Choo’s for the awards ceremony at super posh Claridge’s last night.

Stella McCartney won best British Designer, whilst Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and Ellie Simmons scooped the British Ambassadors of the year awards – we wonder if Stella claimed responsibility for the dodgy Olympic tracksuits?

Scottish singer Emeli Sande put her microphone down for five minutes to put her party pants on and let her hair down. The Heaven singer, who will be touring next year said she is not ruling out trying to break the US – do we see another Leona Lewis?

Yasmin Le Bon certainly doesn’t look her 48 years in s snakeskin print floor length dress. The model has a body to die for and said she owes it all to snacking on strawberries and Bikram yoga – we had better get our mats out now.

David Gandy, in a suit, looking scrummy. Enough said.

Fashion legend Vivienne Westwood committed the ultimate fashion sin by wearing socks with sandals. Queen Viv, it may be time to renounce your crown!

Marion Cotillard looked divine in Dior and said she is always happy to have an excuse to come back to the UK. We heart Marion’s style and her new flick Rust and Bone – click here for the review.

The Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt arrived wearing a statement orange gown. The actress, who divides her time between the UK and the States said she is thinking about making her time in England more permanent with her Chuck actor husband John Krasinski.

    The Winners are…

Stella McCartney – British Designer of the Year

Marion Cotillard – International Actor of the Year

The Queen – Icon of the Year

Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and Ellie Simmonds – British Ambassadors of the Year

Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards With VO5

Celebrity Party | Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards 2012

Last night saw one of our fave award shows of the year – the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the year awards with VO5. The Victoria and Albert Hall turned into all things girly for one night only, with the likes of the X-Factor judges, Kelly Osbourne and Team GB there to celebrate women. We were so lucky to be invited, we made the most of every second to ask the stars what they do to make life more fabulous.  This is what we found:

Nicole Scherzinger look fabulous as always in a tight white shift dress and hot pink shoes. Nicole Scherzinger (when collecting an award) said she regretted saying ‘grow some balls’ as balls are weak and sensitive. She wished she’d said grow a vagina. Hearing Nicole say Vagina was weird!

The X-Factor judge has the best brows in the business and the singer told us that she has been using Chantecaille eyebrow pencils to give her brows a nice arch and a shape to her face. We know where we’re going after reading this…Chantecaille.

Yummy mummy to be Fearne Cotton looked gorgeous in a vintage style floral gown. The Radio One DJ said since she discovered she is pregnant she has been using Bio Oil everyday to stop stretch marks – and it’s working!

Strictly Come Dancing star and Girls Aloud legend Kimberley Walsh looked ravishing in mint green at last nights awards show. The singer and dancer said she is glad she is competing in Strictly as she won’t have to bother doing anything extra to shape up for tour. To be honest, she could do with putting ON some weight but we did notice her scoffing her chocolate souflee pudding and finish the lot, so we’re not that worried about her. She’s a girl after our own hears – that souflee was choc-o-licious!

Kelly Osbourne still looks amazing after her dramatic weight loss, not showing the same appetite as Kimberley (boo). Ozzy’s daughter, who was not happy with the way she looked after leaving rehab, had an image overhaul and cut out sugary foods and started running. Kel said she still loves Jammie Dodgers, but said the best thing for you to work the calories off is to join a running club.

We are loving Alesha Dixon’s masculine style at the moment. Last week she wore double denim to the National Poppy Appeal and this week she is in tuxedo trousers – pop to Urban Outfitters (Alesha’s fave high street shop) to get the look.

As the night was all about strong, powerful women, Zoe went for a show-stopping glamour overhaul for the evening. In fact, she was called the Queen Quiff – we like that. The hair was done by Kerry from Danique hairdressing. And notice Zoe’s eyelashes in the picture below? They are Angel Eyes semi-permanent eyelash extensions, which mean you don’t even need to wear any mascara. They’re meant to last for up months with regular infills. We’ll let you know how we get on.

Zoe caught up with the X-factor hopefuls at last night’s awards and said her new fave is definitely Kye Sones. The ex-chimney sweeper was very humble and said he was just grateful to be in the competition, let alone possibly winning it!

Zoe also had a natter with Rylan Clarke about his BFF and ex-mentor Katie Price. The controversial contestant said that Katie tried to do his tan for the show but it was really bad, so he is now off to Fake Bake to get it done properly. He also confessed that Katie nearly took his eyebrows off before bootcamp – we wouldn’t advise you let Pricey near your face!

Speaking to ex-Westlife singer Kian Egan, he confessed he has been watching more X-Factor than Strictly. The Irish singer said he has been keeping up with Nicky’s dancing though and has been voting every weekend. Kian said he still watches it all though is backing Kye Sones to go all the way. He may be a little biased  as his wife, Jodi went to stage school with the reality show contestant.

Jessica Ennis won the Best Olympian award and said she is back in training already! The Olympian trains every day and said she only has rare days off – we can tell, you looked fabulous in your McQueen frock! Zoe towered above her:

    The winners are…

    Editor’s Choice  – Stephanie Kercher

    Ultimate Olympian – Jessica Ennis

    Ultimate Hottie – Louis Smith

    Ultimate Paralympian – Sarah Storey

Ultimate UK TV Actress – Vicky McClure

Ultimate Film Actress – Jennifer Lawrence

Ultimate Newcomer award – Zawe Ashton

Ultimate Confidence Queens – Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian

VIP Gig: JLS Supported By X-Factor’s MK1 At G.A.Y

Celebrity Gig | JLS and MK1 At G.A.Y

Those JLS boys have come a long way since those X-Factor days haven’t they? The super cheeky boys have written a new album and their new single ‘Hottest Girl In The World’ is fast becoming our fave track to date. Saturday night saw Marvin, Ortise, JB and Aston get the blood pumping through many a man (and woman’s) heart on stage at G.A.Y.

Not content with putting on a fabulous show full of jumping, flips and gyrating, the boys also had evicted X-Factor urban group MK1. Charlotte and Sim (MK1) may have been gutted they are no longer in the running for the coveted X-Factor prize, but they said they have already been offered support and help from mentor Louis Walsh and Tulisa – with those guys behind you, we think you are going to have a glittering career guys.

We did have ask the JLS boys if we are going to hear any wedding bells soon, as JB is engaged to childhood sweetheart Chloe and Aston is dating one of his back-up dancers – they wouldn’t give away anything but we think we should start dusting our hats off.

We wonder if that calender will be going on Marv and Rochelle’s fridge?

VIP Sporty Party: NFL International Series 2012

Celebrity Party | NFL International Series 2012 Launch Party

Rugby and Football season may be making its comeback, but we are much more excited about the NFL coming to our fair shores. Yesterday saw the New England Patriots and the St Louis Rams at Wembley stadium to a packed audience full of fans old and new. The New England Patriots won by a mile and we have to say that they were definitely the fitter team.

But talking of fit men, one of the best parts of the NFL circus coming to town is we got an opportunity to party with sporty people of all ages at a pre-party at Under The Bridge in the Chelsea Football Stadium.

Our website editor Zoe, enjoyed the fun and frolicks of Saturday night’s launch party who caught up with NFL legend Bruce Smith from top team the Buffalos. The giant of a man told Zoe that this is his first trip to London and is absolutely loving it – he was even showing some impressive dance moves too.

American soft rock band Train performed, busting out classic tunes such as Drops of Jupiter and Hey, Soul Sister – we loved every minute of it.

Not only did Zoe get a chance to rub shoulders with the NFL stars and cheerleaders, but she also met synchronised swimmers Jenna and Asha Randall and Chris Ubank with his sons Christopher and Sebastian who are both boxers. It all got a little hot in that room.

Lastly, we rounded the party up with discovering a super cool rap star Called Bobii Lewis – we would of actually preferred to have seen him rather than Train’s extra loooooong set! Don’t believe how good he is? Check him out yourself…

Lingerie Backstage With Peter Crouch And Abbey Clancy

Before I start this post, I have a mini-disclaimer.I took a lot of video footage at this event, which I plan to edit for my Live Like a VIP YouTube channel by Friday, and so this written blog post is a teaser of what is to come. Tease was very much the slogan for the night as the event I’m talking about was a lingerie fashion show for the Seven Bar Foundation.

I’ll be honest, I’d never heard of the Seven Bar Foundation before but the more I hear about it the more I like it as it’s a female friendly charity. It’s all about helping women in poverty to help themselves by arranging loans for viable small business plans they have. And last night, they definitely earned enough to fund themselves as the £500 a head dinner at Old Billingsate Market in the city of London was completely full and that’s a venue that seats 500 people. That’s at least £250,000 (minus the cost of the venue hire, obviously).

I was lucky enough to have VIP access to the behind the scenes area and so to make the most of the night for everyone that couldn’t be there I took some photos and chatted to celebrities  like Abbey Clancy (above with me and below).

Abbey is wearing an Agent Provacateur corset that’s out next season and told me it’s the first time she’s been on a catwalk since giving birth to her daughter Sophia. She said it was nice for her to know her husband Peter Crouch was sat in the crowd as it made her feel less nervous. We bet he was really proud of her too! In fact, we did also talk to him later in the night (see more further down).

The main hangout for the models was the backstage bar provided by luxury rum brand Ron Zacapa. In the photo below, you can see Dan, the brand ambassador for the drink, on the far right. On the far left is me and my personal trainer Derrick Twum and there are also journalists from Star magazine, The Daily Express and The Mail on Sunday. Us journalists are a tough crowd to please but after a Daquiri, a long cocktail and some tasting of neat rum, I certainly had a smile on my face. However, I do also realise that Derrick may make me work this off in the gym later this week…

The backstage bar was a big pull for the models who needed a stiff upper lip before walking down the catwalk wearing practically nothing.  There were two shows with the warm-up being a lingerie show by Lady Gaga’s favourite latex designer Atsuko Kudo. Here’s a model doing some warm-ups backstage before sashaying down the catwalk in this latex lingerie.

I quickly peeped my head round the curtain to see how it looked on the catwalk. What do you think?

One thing I did like about the Atsuko range is that it was really colourful. When you think of latex you automatically think black or beige, well I do anyway, but I was impressed to see that wasn’t the case with stunning pinks and lilacs.

Check out the lilac latex stockings. It was National Stockings Day last Friday so it’s about time to celebrate it now if you didnt do so last week.

Now back for some more celebrity gossip, I grilled Peter Crouch about fashion. He gets his suits made at Oliver Sweeney, he uses Elemis shaving gel and he uses Fudge products in his hair. He avoids alcohol and he has a date night with his wife Abbey at least once a week. Could this man be any more perfect? However, I do feel sorry for him as his default pose is to  stoop anytime anyone wants their photo taken with him. He’s much better looking in the flesh than I captured in the photo, trust me.

The main fashion show by Agent Provacateur I captured on video, with Peaches Geldof and Sarah Harding doing turns on the catwalk. This will be up online and on YouTube tomorrow – watch this space for one of the sexiest videos you’ll see all year.

And after all this, it was time for an after-party held at the luxurious Raffles members club in Chelsea, which was one of the sponsors of Lingerie London. With Veuve Cliquot, Tom Collins cocktails and a sparkling pear and cinnamon fizz, let’s hope some guests booked the next day off work!

VIP Royal Premiere: James Bond Skyfall

Celebrity Premiere | James Bond Skyfall

That’s right ladies, the only man to make a Martini look sexy is back. Daniel Craig has reprised his role as 007 and has definitely put the shaken back into the Bond franchise. Treading the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall, the stars of the film and the fans were treated to classical Bond music and David Walliams interviewing the stars live on the red carpet.

In Skyfall, 007’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is severely tested, as her past comes back to haunt her. Bond must track down the threat, regardless of the personal cost.

Cue buildings being blown up, hot women and Daniel Craig in his pants – what more could you want in a movie? This is by far the best Bond film we have seen in years – go and watch it now!

Star of the film Daniel Craig looked pretty dapper in his Tom Ford suit (we were gutted he wasn’t in Speedo’s) and told us that he has signed up to do the next Bond. Thank the Lord!

British veteran actress Judi Dench looked fabulous last night in a floor length white gown. M even had her neck ‘tattooed’ with a diamante 007 – so bloomin’ cool! Our favourite British actress said she is sad to be leave the Bond films behind and said life isn’t all bad when you see Daniel Craig in a suit everyday. Whoah! You go Judi.

New Bond girl Naomie Harris looked every inch the starlet last night, but confessed to us that she never thought being a Bond girl was even possible. “I never thought it was a possibility, so it’s hugely exciting to be a Bond girl.” She added: “I’m loving it. I love Sam Mendes. He’s a fantastic director. And Daniel Craig is incredible to work with, so I feel incredibly lucky.” Yes, you are bloomin’ lucky Naomie!

Naughty Bond Girl Berenice Marlohe stunned the crowds in a scarlet Vivienne Westwood frock – she definitely won the frock off with Naomie. The actress said she enjoyed trying to kick Bond’s butt and that she would love to work with Daniel again. We bet you would, after seeing him in the buff!

Kelly Brook sizzled in a floor length gold gown, but boyfriend Thom Evans was not there to admire her. The model said she has been super busy at the moment training for her role in theatre show Crazy Horse and said she has never been in better shape. We had better get our dancing shoes on if we want to look like Ms Brook.

Baddie of the film Javier Bardem may have replaced our Daniel Craig crush – PHWOAR!

We were a bit gutted it wasn’t Prince Harry in a James Bond style suit, but we guess Charles tried his best to look more like 007.

Skyfall is due for release Friday 26th October:

VIP Awards: Women of the Year Lunch and Awards

Celebrity Awards | Women of the Year Lunch

We know there are more awards shows in one year than hot dinners, but yesterday’s Women of the Year Awards truly inspired us. Jam packed with celebs, normal folk like me and you, packed to the brim with inspirational stories and remarkable women. Everyone from Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington to Lorraine Kelly was there to either present or receive awards – girl power!

Olympic athlete Rebecca Adlington looked well rested after her sporting summer and said she is already back in training – this girl knows how to punish herself doesn’t she?! We love Becky’s look so much that we dedicated an entire beauty post to her. Read it here.

Legendary actress Helen Mirren put some glamour into the proceedings yesterday afternoon. Helen said it is about time women pull together and appreciate each other as we spend more time being negative towards on another. Here, here Hel! Ms Mirren is looking in fabulous shape recently and said she owes it all to body balance classes (a mix of yoga, pilates and tai chi).

VIP Party: Alcatel One Touch and Stooshe Party

Celebrity Party | Alcatel One Touch and Stooshe Party

Our favourite girlband of the moment Stooshe looked fabulous at the launch of Alcatel One Touch on Saturday night. The British band, who have been taking the UK by storm and represented the brand perfectly.

The new Smartphone comes not only with the newest gadgets and apps, but Stooshe have exclusively recorded a video and wallpaper for the digital device. Not only can you make calls, texts, send emails and all the other fancy pants stuff a Smartphone does, but now you can listen to our fave girlband at the touch of a button, for free!

The girls gave a fabulous performance at the launch party with renditions of Love Me and Black Heart – they even seemed to get the attention from even the biggest tech geeks.

The London girls looked their usual cool, eclectic self in a mish-mash of outfits – we are loving their style. Not only was their style bang on, they looked glowing too. The girls said their make-up artist has been using Bobbi Brown highlighting pens to hide dark circles and give them a glow.

As a little treat for you all to beat those Monday blues here’s Stooshe with Black Heart:

VIP Premiere: London BFI Film Festival Closing Party

Celebrity Premiere | London BFI Film Festival Closing Party

This is the one we have all been waiting for, Great Expectations at the London BFI Festival. Helena Bonham Carter is ravishing as Miss Havisham, Jeremy Irvine is smouldering as Pip and Ralph Fiennes is seriously spooky as Pip’s benefactor Magwitch.

Great Expectations follows the life of Pip, a young boy who lives with his Aunt and Uncle. One day, as Pip walks through the marshes, he comes across a fugitive by the name of Magwitch. Instead of turing the felon in, Pip pretends he sees no-one. Years later, as a young man, Pip comes across Miss Havisham and her young adopted daughter Estella, who he falls in love with.

When reaching his 18th birthday, Pip suddenly comes into money from a wealthy benefactor who he believes is Miss Havisham, little did he know it is Magwitch. The tale about lust, distrust and love is why this is one of Dickens best novels.

Helena Bonham Carter looked a million miles away from Miss Havisham in her gothic layered dress. The British actress said playing such an iconic figure in English literature was incredibly risky and she only hopes her portrayal of the original spinster is received well. Ms Carter toned down the spooky make-up last night and instead opted for dark eyes, which she says is thanks to Dior jet black eyeliner.

Star of the film David Walliams and model wife Lara Stone looked as loved up as ever – they barely made it down the red carpet without smooching several times. Lara looked stunning in a floor length, black gown and gold clutch bag. We confessed to the model that we are super jel of her flawless skin, and she told us to get some Estee Lauder BB Anti-Oxidant cream as it makes her skin look alive even when she feels tired. AMAZING!

Jeremy Irvine and Holliday Grainger looked cute together on the red carpet and we wondered if the romance of Pip and Estella spilled over form the big screen. The young actors were keeping tight lipped on that one, but we think they look super cute!

Great Expectations is released nationwide November 30th:

Party Report: Love Perfume Awards 2012

There was no time to be tired after the London Lifestyle Awards as my fellow nominee for London Personality of the Year, PR maestro Nick Ede (above), was hosting the Love Perfume Awards for the Perfume Shop. When you get an invite to one of Nick’s parties you really cannot turn it down. You’re guaranteed a great venue, nice cocktails, yummy canapes and most importantly…CELEBRITIES.

I made the most of the night – as there was a good VIP turn out – to ask the celebs about their favourite fragrances and to get them to tell me what they were up to at the moment. You can’t beat a bit of gossip, can you? So I started with Joey Essex and James ‘Arg’ Argent who were on a boys night out. They told me they wore Gucci by Gucci and Hugo Boss Orange. Did you expect that? I didn’t.

Cheska Hull and Gabriella Ellis had come straight from filming Made In Chelsea in Selfridges so Cheska revealed she sprayed some fragrance in the beauty hall before attending the party. That’s the best thing about department stores. Cheska looked absolutely stunning in a Little Mistress sequin dress, she has a great figure. Both her and Gabi say they work out with Gabi telling me she does running and boxing every single day. WOW!

But talking of trainers, I brought my own personal trainer, Derrick Twum from the elite training collective MEM, to the event. We all got onto the dancefloor with the Streets singer Leo Ihenacho. Derrick trained me hard that afternoon (stay tuned for the update to my training diary) so I think he was coming to check I didn’t undo the exercise part with neglecting my diet. Getting a VIP body, requires a lot of determination!

TV Presenter and columnist Lizzie Cundy was wearing a very sexy dress by a new brand called Baby Box – their stuff is wild. But she offset it with some classis Chanel No 5  – very Marilyn Monroe.

Coty Prestige, Proctor and Gamble and Marc Jacobs’ Dot were all winners on the night but the award that stuck in my head the most was best celebrity nose. The female category was won by Taylor Swift and the male one by David Beckham. This gave me an excuse to do some photo research to check out David’s nose. What do you think, people?

And let’s start a debate. What’s your favourite perfume? Tweet me @zoegriffin I like Michael Kors by Michael Kors, which is often overlooked by customers wanting a fancy bottle or a big name but the jasmine essences are just addictive. HINT, HINT: Santa Claus – please can I have some in my stocking?
