London Last Night
Before I start this post, I have a mini-disclaimer.I took a lot of video footage at this event, which I plan to edit for my Live Like a VIP YouTube channel by Friday, and so this written blog post is a teaser of what is to come. Tease was very much the slogan for the night as the event I’m talking about was a lingerie fashion show for the Seven Bar Foundation.
I’ll be honest, I’d never heard of the Seven Bar Foundation before but the more I hear about it the more I like it as it’s a female friendly charity. It’s all about helping women in poverty to help themselves by arranging loans for viable small business plans they have. And last night, they definitely earned enough to fund themselves as the £500 a head dinner at Old Billingsate Market in the city of London was completely full and that’s a venue that seats 500 people. That’s at least £250,000 (minus the cost of the venue hire, obviously).
I was lucky enough to have VIP access to the behind the scenes area and so to make the most of the night for everyone that couldn’t be there I took some photos and chatted to celebrities like Abbey Clancy (above with me and below).
Abbey is wearing an Agent Provacateur corset that’s out next season and told me it’s the first time she’s been on a catwalk since giving birth to her daughter Sophia. She said it was nice for her to know her husband Peter Crouch was sat in the crowd as it made her feel less nervous. We bet he was really proud of her too! In fact, we did also talk to him later in the night (see more further down).
The main hangout for the models was the backstage bar provided by luxury rum brand Ron Zacapa. In the photo below, you can see Dan, the brand ambassador for the drink, on the far right. On the far left is me and my personal trainer Derrick Twum and there are also journalists from Star magazine, The Daily Express and The Mail on Sunday. Us journalists are a tough crowd to please but after a Daquiri, a long cocktail and some tasting of neat rum, I certainly had a smile on my face. However, I do also realise that Derrick may make me work this off in the gym later this week…
The backstage bar was a big pull for the models who needed a stiff upper lip before walking down the catwalk wearing practically nothing. There were two shows with the warm-up being a lingerie show by Lady Gaga’s favourite latex designer Atsuko Kudo. Here’s a model doing some warm-ups backstage before sashaying down the catwalk in this latex lingerie.
I quickly peeped my head round the curtain to see how it looked on the catwalk. What do you think?
One thing I did like about the Atsuko range is that it was really colourful. When you think of latex you automatically think black or beige, well I do anyway, but I was impressed to see that wasn’t the case with stunning pinks and lilacs.
Check out the lilac latex stockings. It was National Stockings Day last Friday so it’s about time to celebrate it now if you didnt do so last week.
Now back for some more celebrity gossip, I grilled Peter Crouch about fashion. He gets his suits made at Oliver Sweeney, he uses Elemis shaving gel and he uses Fudge products in his hair. He avoids alcohol and he has a date night with his wife Abbey at least once a week. Could this man be any more perfect? However, I do feel sorry for him as his default pose is to stoop anytime anyone wants their photo taken with him. He’s much better looking in the flesh than I captured in the photo, trust me.
The main fashion show by Agent Provacateur I captured on video, with Peaches Geldof and Sarah Harding doing turns on the catwalk. This will be up online and on YouTube tomorrow – watch this space for one of the sexiest videos you’ll see all year.
And after all this, it was time for an after-party held at the luxurious Raffles members club in Chelsea, which was one of the sponsors of Lingerie London. With Veuve Cliquot, Tom Collins cocktails and a sparkling pear and cinnamon fizz, let’s hope some guests booked the next day off work!
