Going to a festival is as much about fashion and friends as it is about the music, let’s face it. If you feel good about yourself and you have your mates by your side then you can never leave the camping area and still have a good time without seeing any bands.
So far, we’ve only had the Isle of Wight festival in the UK (which I recently blogged about) and there’s a whole summer of live music ahead of us. It’s the perfect time to plan ahead and work out some hot festival looks so we can impress and feel great about ourselves from kick off on Friday til the last band on Sunday.
I’m still working out what I’m packing so I was very pleased that Very hosted a VIP festival event in London’s Hospital club. I went along to see some inspiration.
At the event, there were hairderssers to help you achieve a boho festival hair style and my hair was tonged, which made me feel all summery. That feeling was increased when I got a glitter tattoo on my hand, Beyonce style, from Seekers of The Sun. But when I found these two pieces – the South suede look fringed waistcoat and a pretty white lace dress, it increased ten fold. Imagine both of these with gladiator sandals or ankle boots. That’s one look sorted!
The waistcoat was a very popular piece among journalists and bloggers as you can see by the photo below. Look how many people are Instagramming it and Tweeting about it!
It was hard to move on from those two items but we need a whole weekend’s worth of looks. The next thinsg I loved were the South Candice dungaree midi dress with a cute blue rain mac. Even if it rains, we can still look glam.
Denim is a key festival trend and another of my favourite items was the South belted denim dress. If it’s slightly windy, this is a good option as it will keep off the chill but you won’t overheat in it.
But if the weather does stay nice, you need these denim shorts in your life. You’ll get lots of wear out of something like this as they can be worn around a pool on a beach holiday as well.
Talking of holidays, how summery is this South crochet back jersey dress? I love the neon colour. You’d feel a million dollars in something like this, especially with some long necklaces and plaits in your hair.
If you’re more of a jeans or shorts and top kind of girl, then it leaves the eternal dilemma of what to wear on top. The Definitions floral abstract print oversized shirt solves this problem. It’s equally preppy and feminine and because it’s a long length it will hide grass stains / mud / spilt drinks and all the other dirt you may pick up at a festival site.
I also loved the South embellished cami, which I’d wear with jeans and gladiator sandals or jeans and boots. I can imagine Kate Moss and Sienna Miller wearing things like this.
And let’s not forget about the accessories. I fell in love with these Shoe Box Ronnie Tassle Cuff Sandals and there were some gorgeous necklaces as well.
