I’ve written about Choccywoccydoodah on Live Like a VIP a few times. Ok, a lot of times. This is because a visit to their shops in London and Brighton is a guaranteed boost for the body and mind.
Due to their sublime cake, tiffins, dipping pots and hot chocolate, which just doesn’t taste like any other brand of chocolate (as it’s home-made in Brighton), you get an instant endorphin rush. This is raised even more by the friendliness of the staff and the abundance of creativity and magic that goes into every product. I mean where else can you get a five tier taster cake, which can be drizzled with extra chocolate sauce should you wish.
And now, wherever you live in the world you can share the Choccywoccydoodah magic, due to this new book (available now at Amazon)
As soon as I got my hands on it, I read it from cover to cover with a napkin tucked into my shirt to mop up the drool.
This book is not just about chocolate, it’s about the Choccywoccydoodah lifestyle. There are fairy stories and tales to make you feel happy and warm inside. The cake designers and bakers and shop staff share their personal recipes, which can be anything from cheese on toast to roast potatoes, plus there’s a recipe for a cake suitable for dogs (that doesn’t contain chocolate).
But if you like chocolate as much as me you’ll be pleased to learn that there are plenty of recipes for cakes and dips. No fancy ingredients required! Why over-complicate chocolate, after all?
The book launch party took place in Choccywoccydoodah London’s secret room – a magical garden vista where the centrepiece is an extremely long table.
Here’s a close-up of some of the spread that Choccywoccydoodah laid on. It’s all an example of what beautiful things they can do with chocolate. There are strawberry champagne truffles with popping candy in the red boxes, marshmallows and a chocolate dip, chocolate apples. giant chocolate mendiants with hundreds and thousands, rose truffles, lavender truffles, chilli and apple truffles, pink chocolate buttons, chocolate coated orange peel and tiny pieces of chocolate and ginger cake and Guinness cake.
The book is the latest Choccywoccydoodah project after six series’ of their TV show on Good Food. Every cake tells a story and their show features them making cakes for real people who need cake for special occasions and celebrities who need statement cakes.
My favourite will always be the Joan Collins episode (even though they’ve had names like Whoopi Goldberg and Welsey Snipes). Because what’s good enough for my fave author and glamourpuss Joanie is good enough for me. Grrrr!
It will change the way you think about chocolate.
