This suggestion for meeting VIPs comes in the form of Cosmopolitan magazine’s third Masterclass in it’s series this year; The next step to being your own boss.
These seminars, based in London, are a great way to meet industry professionals, and learn a few tips of the trade. I attended one earlier in the year, where a panel including Cosmopolitan Editor Louise Court and BBC 3 presenter Cherry Healey answered questions, talked through their careers and even stayed around afterwards for a little chat.
Taking place this Thursday (1st August) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, this event will also be chaired by Cosmo’s Editor Louise Court; heading up a panel of five entrepreneurial businesswomen as they talk you through the secrets of going it alone in the business world.
Taking place in The British Library, close to St Pancreas Station, London, you’ll have the chance to meet Kanya King, Founder of the MOBO Awards; Jacqueline Gold, Chief executive of Ann Summers and Knickerbox; Melissa Burton, Founder of natural-sweet company Goody Good Stuff; Shaa Wasmund, Founder of Smarta, the UK’s leading support platform for business owners and Jo Behari, Founder of the UK’s first all-female home-improvement company, Home Jane.
The masterclass is a ticketed event, with a fee of £30 – this includes a glass of champagne on arrival and a Cosmo goody bag for everyone attending – last time, I felt this alone made back the ticket fee and then some! With shampoo and conditioner, Argan oil, moisturiser, fake tan, lip gloss, toothpaste, benefit make up, fake lashes and more!
Tickets can be bought through the Cosmopolitan website:
