Former “Head Angel” for Victoria’s Secret Heidi Klum wowed us at the eighth annual “Made in NY” Awards, which honours individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to New York City’s media and entertainment industry. The event was held in Gracie Mansion in New York City. Heidi went for a natural but elegant make-up style which made her stand out from the crowd.
I think she looks youthful and glowing but what is her secret? Well, Heidi has actually said that she tends not to wear make-up on her days off as she likes to keep it simple but she does give away one of her tricks: blotting paper. Blotting paper is a godsend to reviving tired make-up and refreshing your skin. Why not try Paul and Joe’s Limited Edition Blotting Paper to revitalise your skin.
Heidi used a clear lip gloss at the awards, keeping her face looking fresh and sexy. Although, a little pricey, Mac does a gorgeous clear gloss that gives a wet, mirrored shine.
Heidi’s eyes look stunning so I am going to give you a brief overview of how you can eyes that will look great for any occasion. A great tip to start is before you apply your eye shadow, ensure you deposit excess product onto your hand, this prevents the powder falling all on your face. Okay, so firstly, apply a dark shadow to the lower lash line from outside and work inwards before lining the top lash and defining the outer corner of the eye. Then for the eyelash curler, everyone should have one of these in your bags, as it opens up the eyes. Bobbi Brown do this great eyelash curler but you can pick them up cheaper in your nearest Boots or Superdrug.
Next, fill in your eyebrows – you can actually use a brow gel to ‘glue’ brows in place if you have stubborn eyebrows. Sounds crazy? I know, but it works a treat. GOSH do a great gel for a bargain price if you want to try it.
Lastly, use a light coloured eye shadow on the inner corner of the eye as this opens the eye up and looks super sexy. Make sure you blend your eye shadow with a clean brush. This look will compliment a understated lip as Heidi has done at the awards, so a clear lip gloss is perfect for this look.
