Behind The Scenes At Beauty Bloggers #NorthMeetUp

I am really lucky because I spend a lot of the time doing what I love – blogging and reading other people’s blogs – and this weekend I discovered some fabulous new blogs and caught up with some familiar friends. That’s a pretty productive way to spend a Sunday afternoon! It was all arranged by fellow Cosmo Blog Award Winner Em Sheldon (above left) from the addictive blog EmTalks.co.uk

I was asked to attend to talk about my book Get Rich Blogging, and I was pretty impressed by the amount of people that turned up. Em has a martini glass in her hand – very Sex and The City – but it doesn’t contain alcohol, it was full with names of bloggers that attended and made the Revolution bar in Manchester’s Deansgate full of sequins, sparkles and all things glitter. There were 60 blogs in total and I’m going to tip you off about some of my personal favourites below. Just be warned – you could get hooked!

But first of all, I want you to think about whether you may want to blog. For my book Get Rich Blogging I interviewed some of the world’s most successful  bloggers for tips about how they made money blogging. I believe anyone can start a blog and earn from it and the more you follow the tips in my book the more you can earn. Plus I witnessed in the room at the Bloggers Meet-Up that everyone gets some satisfaction (creative, experimental and social) from having a blog, no matter how much they are currently getting, if anything.

So who turned up to the meet-up then? I seriously could not believe how many amazing blogs are out there, each with its own unique personality. (And if you do get the book, you’ll realise the importance of being unique and useful). I recommend you check out the following blogs: Glossy Boutique by Emma Kelly (top left photo), Beccaboosmakeup by Rebecca Clarke and Sweetie Sal by Sally O’Shea (top right photo), Past Time Bliss by Lola (bottom left) and Jem’Apparel by Jayde Riley and Lucy Rose X by Lucy Rose Green (bottom right photo)

And there’s more! From Left to Right below we have Bobbi from Beauty By Bobbi, Rachel from Lost in Lipstick, Kelsey from Kelsey Dawn Blogs and Katie from Gold Dust

And this girl below, Maria, deserves a special mention as her blog is so uplifting – it’s got the same attitude as Live Like A VIP. Maria and I both believe you don’t need to spend a lot to look like a VIP – it’s all about how you wear it. And she dishes out tips on blogging  like how to use WordPress. Her blog is called Miss Drifted Snow White

And talking of Getting Rich Blogging, the goody bags showed that it is definitely profitable to be a beauty blogger. There were nail products, body products, oils and even some tea bags!

And can you see Face B4 at the top left of the photo above? It’s a new miracle skin product – the most effective anti-bacterial spot fighting face wash on the market right now – and that can get all of the bloggers richer as well as better skin. How?  Anyone with a blog can get 10% commission on all sales made through their blog and this was explained to all the bloggers at the North Meet Up.

However, if you have a blog and couldn’t make the meeting but want to earn some money through this Face B4 commission email zoe@livelikeavip.com and I’ll put you in contact with the right people at Face B4.  The face wash is pretty new and unique too – it contains a nozzle with the cleanser and a nozzle for the toner that are activated when you press the pump and it foams up!

I understand Em will be organising more events around the UK soon so stay tuned for a meet up in your area. Why not start a blog if you don’t have one already and get involved!

  1. I really wish I had spoken to you for longer. I remember I got dragged away elsewhere before I could properly say hello. I will definitely have to pick up your book, looks fantastic! Hopefully I can say hello in the future 🙂
