Backstage With Zoe On Book Launch Day

It’s not easy getting dressed up when you know all attention is going to be on you! Do you think  I pulled it off judging from the picture below? If so, I’m about to share all my secrets….

The preparations started the day before when I picked my outfit (nothing like leaving it to the last minute). Thankfully I stumbled upon a stunning jumpsuit from Betti Design and themed my outfit around it. When you have a statement suit, you can team it with the High Street basics so my brown shoes are from New Look and the belt is ASOS.

It was busy that day as I also fitted it a spray tan. Thankfully there is a new service from Fake Bake, where you can get a spray tan in the comfort of your own home. This beats getting hot and sweaty going to the salon and travelling home. It’s ideal for busy people like me and I had a lovely tanner called Paige Parker, who made the process really quick.

Then it came to the day of the party. The first step was make-up and as it was my event I wanted to have a little extra help. I visited the MAC Make-Up counter on the 3rd Floor of London Department store Selfridges and was transformed by the gorgeous Stephanie Sion. She is AMAZING

And the finishing touch was hair. Pierre Doumit from Leticia Haute Coiffure in Marylebone has hands of magic!  Look at how big and bouncy my hair became after just 45 minute in his care. It would probably have been 30 if I didn’t gossip so much…

Pierre also came to the party to touch up my hair when it dropped into more manageable ways. How VIP is that?

I felt like a Princess…. really hope I get another excuse to dress up soon.
